Databricks Consulting Partner
Your lakehouse, built by engineers who have migrated one before.
Zephico Technologies is a Databricks Consulting Partner. We design, build and migrate Databricks platforms — Delta Lake architectures, Unity Catalog governance, pipelines and orchestration — with certified engineers working your hours from Ahmedabad, India.

Capabilities
What we do on Databricks
A deliberately narrow practice. These are the six things we do repeatedly, not a list of everything the platform supports.
Lakehouse & medallion architecture
Bronze/silver/gold layer design on Delta Lake, with the table structure, partitioning and retention decided before the first pipeline is written rather than after.
Batch & streaming pipelines
Ingestion and transformation with Spark, Auto Loader and Delta Live Tables — including the parts nobody demos: backfills, late-arriving data and schema drift.
Warehouse migration to the lakehouse
Legacy warehouses moved onto Databricks with reporting kept running in parallel through the transition, whether you are starting from CSV exports or a full estate.
Azure Data Factory & Airflow migration
Orchestration estates converted to Unity-Catalog-native Databricks Workflows through the REST API rather than pipeline by pipeline — the approach that made a 15,000-job migration a four-month project instead of a multi-year one.
Unity Catalog governance
Hive metastore migration, catalog and schema design, grant models that survive an audit, and lineage that answers "who can see this column" without a meeting.
Platform cost optimization
Cluster policies, autoscaling and instance-type tuning, plus the job-level review that finds the workloads quietly running on the wrong compute.
ML & GenAI on the platform
MLflow-tracked model development, model serving, and retrieval pipelines over governed data — built to run in production rather than to demo well once.

Start with the number
Before you buy anything, find out what your Databricks platform is actually costing you and why. Then decide whether a bigger engagement is worth it.

Free DBU cost analysis
30-minute call
We point our own analysis tool at your workspace before we speak. It reads your billed DBU usage straight from the system tables — not estimated from cluster specs — and joins it to your job run history, workflow definitions and cluster configuration through the Databricks REST API. You get a ranked list of what to change, on the call, whether or not you hire us.
What you get
- Actual billed DBU spend by job, cluster and SQL warehouse — reconciled against your invoice, not inferred
- Idle, oversized and misconfigured compute identified from real run history
- Ranked reduction list, biggest saving first, with the risk of each change
- A straight answer on whether a paid audit is worth it for you
The analysis needs read-only access to your workspace — a scoped token or service principal, revocable, no write permissions and no access to your own data — plus a read grant on the billing system tables, which is what makes the spend figures exact rather than estimated. If you would rather not grant it before a first call, we run the call without it.
Or go deeper, with a fixed scope
Unity Catalog Migration Assessment
2 weeks, fixed scope
A full inventory of what is still on the Hive metastore, what breaks when it moves, and a sequenced migration plan with the grant model written out — before anyone touches production.
- Metastore, table and external-location inventory
- Legacy ACL → Unity Catalog grant mapping
- Sequenced migration plan with rollback points
- Cost and effort estimate for the migration itself
Databricks Cost Audit
1–2 weeks
Where your Databricks spend is actually going, cluster by cluster and job by job — with the changes ranked by how much they save against how much they risk.
- Cluster, warehouse and job-level spend breakdown
- Autoscaling, instance-type and photon recommendations
- Idle, orphaned and over-provisioned resource list
- Prioritized change list with estimated saving per item
Orchestration Migration at Scale
Scoped per job count
Airflow and Azure Data Factory jobs converted to Unity-Catalog-native Databricks Workflows, driven by the Databricks REST API and deployed through Terraform — so the job count stops being the constraint.
- REST-API-driven bulk job conversion
- Terraform-managed deployment and version control
- UC-native permissions on the migrated jobs
- Parallel-run and cutover plan
Timelines are typical starting points and are confirmed after a scoping call.

Agents that act on enterprise data need more than a good model — governed tables, narrow tools, real permissions and a cost ceiling. What has to be true first.

Common questions
Is Zephico a Databricks partner?
Yes — Zephico is a Databricks Consulting Partner, and our data engineers additionally hold individual Databricks certifications and have designed and run production lakehouse platforms, not just passed exams.
Can you migrate our existing data warehouse to Databricks?
Yes. We migrate legacy warehouses to Delta Lake with a medallion architecture, keeping reporting running in parallel during the transition — whether you are starting from CSV exports or a full warehouse.
Can you migrate us off Azure Data Factory?
Yes — it is some of our largest delivered work. We converted roughly 15,000 Azure Data Factory and Airflow jobs to Unity-Catalog-native Databricks Workflows for a financial services client in four months, driving the conversion through the Databricks REST API and managing deployment with Terraform rather than migrating pipeline by pipeline.
Do you embed with our data team or deliver independently?
Either. You can bring in individual Databricks engineers on contract to work under your direction, or hand us the platform build end to end with weekly reporting.
What does being a Databricks Consulting Partner change for us as a client?
It means Databricks has vetted and formally engaged with Zephico as a delivery partner, and that we work inside their partner ecosystem — access to enablement, platform roadmap awareness and a route to escalate platform issues, rather than only a support ticket queue.
How quickly can a Databricks engagement start?
Assessments and cost audits usually start within days of a scoping call. Larger platform builds and migrations start with a short discovery, then move to delivery — the Canadian financial services migration went from planning to production in four months.
Do you work on AWS, Azure and GCP Databricks?
Yes. Our deepest infrastructure experience is AWS, where our engineers are certified, and we have delivered Azure Databricks work including a migration off Azure Data Factory.
