Senior Django Engineer

About the role

You’ll be a senior engineer on client product builds — Django backends, Saleor e-commerce platforms, APIs and the infrastructure behind them — and frequently embedded directly in a client’s team as their senior backend engineer. This role is for someone who wants ownership of architecture decisions and is comfortable being the most experienced Django person in the room.

What you’ll do

• Architect and build Django applications and APIs that other engineers extend for years
• Lead Saleor e-commerce implementations: customization, integrations, migrations from hosted platforms
• Embed with client teams on contract engagements — their standups, their codebase, your expertise
• Review code, mentor mid-level engineers, and set the technical bar on your projects
• Own production: deployments, monitoring, incident response on AWS

What we’re looking for

• 5+ years of Python/Django in production, including at least one system you architected yourself
• Deep PostgreSQL knowledge — query plans, migrations on live data, when to denormalize
• Experience with GraphQL and containerized deployments; Saleor experience is a strong plus
• The judgment to say “no” to complexity, and the communication skills to explain why to a client
• Clear written and spoken English
